Drafting Free Agents

FT or Scott, is it true that we can draft free agents not on the draft list?

I don't see why we couldn't; I guess the only risk is that a really awesome free agent might be generated while the draft is in progress, and whoever's pick it is at that time would have an advantage.

On that note, wouldn't it have been really interesting if instead of a draft, every FA was just taken off waivers and we had to build our team by bidding -- do you blow all your room trying to get that one superstud, or do you go under the radar and go for five or six average quality players, hoping nobody else will compete with your bid? Would have been exciting, that's for sure.

It would have been a headache... imagine trying to chart & bid on 200 odd players over dialup. [img]confused.gif[/img]
